Claire explored how nanostructured surfaces can increase heat dissipation performance for liquid cooling applications. She participated in a US-China grant to develop advanced nanostructured surfaces for decreased water loss in power plants. Additionally, Claire was active in outreach programs and efforts to diversify faculty and students in engineering departments. She graduated in 2018 and works as a Thermal Applications Engineer for the DuPont Silicon Valley Technology Center.
At Berkeley, Claire has become involved in the “Be A Scientist” Program that runs science experiments at local middle schools to introduce students to the scientific method. Claire is also an active member of the Society of Women Engineers and is a founding member of the GradSWE section at UC Berkeley, known as GWE. When she’s not doing engineering, she loves to sing, play piano, and cook delicious food!
